THE ROOM & THE FOOD:

The Creperie Cafe can only be defined as an eclectic verzion of what an American thinks a French Bistro would look like. It's fanciful and fun. They also have an outdoor street side cafe that is a great place to sit on warm sunny days and just people watch. The Creperie Cafe offers a large selection of crepes that are both savory and sweet. These crepes can be enjoyed anytime of the day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and that all too much fun, late night treat. They have an open area in the back so you can see the crepes being made.  Their dessert crepes are to die for. Who could resist a "Poire Belle Helene" crepe with chocolate sauce, pear slices, toasted almonds, Frangelico liquor all topped with vanilla ice cream. I am just wondering if this is legal! They also serve appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and pastas. There is something for everyone here. I do have to admit that one of my favorite dishes here is their onion soup traditionally made with a baguette and oodles of melted cheese. Hot and steaming aromas that bring memories of comfort. This alone or with one of their salads is a meal in itself. Their food is well prepared and presented. The quality consistent.

THE SERVICE:

The Creperie Cafe is a very popular and a very busy place at all times of the day and night. Waiting lines are very common as they don't take reservations. This can be annoying when you jusrt want to get in, have a relaxing meal and get out. Sometimes the service suffers because the restaurant is packed but for the most part the service is satisfactory. I get the impression the staff have fun working there. They are definietly always busy.

COMMENTS:

This is not a place to take someone for a romantic date. The Creperie has always been a nest bed of activity when I have been there. This is a place to enjoy the crowds. It is one of Belmont Shore's favorite and most popular eateries.
